Bokakhat a subdivision of Assam cradles in its warmth Kaziranga- the internationally renowned forest reserve. The subdivision spreading over approximately 384 sq. kms (excluding the Kaziranga National Park) is inhabited by the Assamese, Nepali,Bengali, Marwari, Bihari, Mishings, tea garden and the Muslim population etc represents a microcosm of the cultural mosaic that constitutes Assam. |
While much has been written about Kaziranga the role of the subdivision has always remained in the background. To tune into the new era of internet and RTI, the sub divisional administration has embarked in this small effort to remove the veil surrounding administration. |
The website serves many purposes and we believe the most important one is to bring administration closer to the people and open up a window for interaction which is both transparent and efficient. We want to establish a model for e-governance which is at once citizen friendly and at the same time open up administration to the service of tourists. The link on administration provides all that is required under RTI and more. We tried to cover all the departments, the schemes, the contact numbers and the financial estimates which underpin transparency in administration. |
